Art Work and Calligraphy   Costumes & Performance

I identify with the Renaissance model of the role of an artist more than any other. In the Renaissance, if you were known as an artist, you were expected to apply your creativity and aesthetic sense to any problem that needed solving. You might be called upon to do a portrait, paint a fresco, design a salt cellar, create costumes for a festival or ball or design doors for a public building, just to name a few examples. All of the various forms of my work whether it is illustration, portraiture, calligraphy and illumination or historical clothing involves problem solving and relates to people. There is no end to the fascination I have with the human form and its various forms of adornment. The way I love applying my talents to so many kinds of things makes me a Renaissance Artist.
